Lending in CA and AZ only
Lending in CA and AZ only

When you are a first-time home buyer, you don’t know what you don’t know. In other words, if you haven’t purchased real estate before then you may not know what to expect during the loan process.

That is why first-time homebuyers need to watch out for some lenders. I have had many clients come to me and tell me about how they lost their earnest money because they were told they are qualified for a loan and then 10 days into contract they are denied. I can’t even begin to describe to you what it feels like to watch someone realize that they are going to miss out on the home of their dreams.

It’s gut-wrenching.

This is what happens sometimes, however, when a consumer chooses to get their loan through a big bank because they have their checking account or car loan through that bank, instead of doing the proper research. They don’t know what they don’t know.

Choosing a local lender could save this headache. First-time home buyers shouldn’t have to get under contract before they are underwritten-pre-approved. Speaking of which, always make sure you get underwritten-pre-approved instead of pre-qualified. When you get underwritten-pre-approved, it typically requires a full application (your credit is run and it is recommended that you send in all of your income documents). And if you do this, it is a pretty safe bet that you will close.

I always ask my clients to get underwritten-pre-approved because I believe it is malpractice to not do so.

This is the type of education I try to bring to my clients, many of which I end up having to help after a big bank has left them in the dark on their loan status. Here are a few testimonials as examples:

“As a first-time home buyer I was very unsure of the process and did not know what to expect. I literally had my lender Mike with AP Mortgage pick up my loan during the middle of what was almost a horrible transaction as I was going through another lender first who had me set up to have a first and a second mortgage on my first home!! Mike assured me I did not need to have two mortgages and proceeded to close on my home with the original close date. I was amazed at how hands on he was.” – Indeara R.

“Michael was phenomenal on all levels of professionalism, expertise, and customer service. He came highly recommended from a friend who had a nightmare come true with a previous lender. She was blown away by Michael and his team and had renewed faith that there are great professionals out there.” – Amanda P.

Look, I promise my clients four things: great customer service, prompt communication, mortgage education, and that they will be treated like people, not loan numbers. I got into this business with the primary goals of effectively communicating with home buyers and helping them navigate the intricate process of obtaining a home loan. If the consumer is educated, then they can make good decisions about their loan product when buying their dream home. Delivering this home loan experience is what makes me passionate about doing loans.

I promise not leave you in the dark.
