This was my first time buying a home. To say I had even a slight clue as to how I proceed would be a lie. Luckily, a friend of mine told me about this guy, Mike Faulkner, who doesn't treat you like a loan number, he personally carries you throughout the entire process. He really is all about whole home loan experience and education is his specialty. There's not a question I had for him where he didn't have the answer for me (whether I liked the answer of not, he was always honest!) If you want someone who truly cares about your experience, someone who will answer your phone call any time or day, who will go to bat for you when things don't go according to plan, Mike's your man. Won't buy another house without him!

First time home buyer and Michael was excellent, took the time to answer all my questions and if he didn't know he had the person that would know call me i.e. title, realtor, insurance agent. He took the time to help me understand the process and all the details that go into purchasing a home. Couldn't be more pleased with how he handle things, got to speak with a real person rather than someone that just puts things into an algorithm (quicken) and lets you try and figure things out for yourself. On my end, I delivered all documents to them within a day of request. On their end, every time I submitted information, it was input to the lending-application pipeline within 24 hours. No delays! More importantly, Mike explained everything in crystal-clear detail, AND he went out of his way to explain other economic concepts surrounding the lending process so that I knew what to expect and when and... It was a breeze working with Michael. He was dedicated to get my purchase closed within 21 days and he did do it in 21 days. I was quite impressive. One thing that kind of got me was that in the beginning I asked to see how much the loan process would cost and I was only informed about the application fee of $5xx something dollars while I was getting quotes like 7k from other place. Turned out the 500 something dollars was just the application fee, I paid the same 7k in loan costs here too, they just charge you for it one way or another. BUT and YES there is a big BUT, if I am paying the same 7k for closing to whichever party I would chose Michael again in a heartbeat. It’s because he truly is dedicated, he communicated over the weekends even when he didn't have to, he got it closed in 21 days. That was absolutely the most important things for me as other banks were quoting 45-60 days for closing. So if you are going to pay the same money to someone else, i would say just pick Mike instead cause you might as well have a loan officer on your side who actually cares about you getting the house when you need it. As I wrote in me previous five star review, Michael works the hardest to get the best rates for his clients, but he also educates. He made me aware of something on my credit that I didn't know about and coached me on how to get the error fixed. Thankfully, with his help, I contacted the bank, they fixed the error, and my credit score returned to what it should be, making me eligible for the best rates. Again, he went above and beyond and I recommend him to anyone in need of a pre-approval, mortgage or refinance!

Michael was phenomenal on all levels of professionalism, expertise, and customer service. He came highly recommended from a friend who had a nightmare come true with a previous lender. She was blown away by Michael and his team and had renewed faith that there are great professionals out there. That being said, it is so important to go with someone you have thoroughly researched and you know is experienced and knowledgeable in what they are doing. Back to Michael- we went through the pre-approval process with him before we even started looking. I highly recommend this. We knew what we could be approved for before we got our hearts set on anything. We decided to go with a new build, and Michael was so instrumental in getting us the lowest interest rate over the 6 months while we waited for our house to be built. Rates went down and we locked 120 days out. He watched the market closely and was truly so interested in educating us about every choice we made, making us aware of benefits and disadvantages of everything. When you are making one of the biggest decisions of your life, you want a panel of experts on your team. A good realtor, and a good lender are key to this. Don't let your arm be twisted if your builder offers incentives with a certain lender, go with the best, and you will likely get incentives regardless. Don't make this decision lightly, and put Michael through the test, he will pass with flying colors!

I wish I could give Michael 6 stars. From start to close, Michael was on top of our loan. He clearly explained every part of the process, made sure we had all of the correct documents/paperwork filled out and was extremely prompt with email/answering his phone.
